TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Senate President Ben Albritton is asking a gathering of the Florida Senate Republican Caucus on Oct. 14 to pick out Majority Chief Jim Boyd because the president-designate for the 2026-28 time period.
In a memo despatched to senators Friday, Albritton known as Boyd the “proper chief to hold on the legacy of Republican management within the Florida Senate.”
“A devoted household man and enterprise proprietor, we’ve got all witnessed his robust work ethic, innate mind, and willingness to deal with robust points with grace and good humor – all traits that enabled him to shortly rise to management positions in each the Home and the Senate,” Albritton wrote.
He counseled his management as the bulk chief, noting he has labored to make sure the Senate Ground runs easily and that each one Senators have their voices heard.

Boyd represents District 20, which incorporates components of Hillsborough, Manatee counties. He served within the Florida Home of Representatives from 2010-2018 and was elected to the State Senate in 2020.
Based on his web site, Boyd is a small enterprise proprietor and thru his family-owned Boyd Insurance coverage & Investments, he has “helped Florida households and companies safeguard their lives and most precious belongings.”
He lives along with his spouse of over 40 years, Sandy in Bradenton and so they have two kids and three grandchildren.
