JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Jacksonville Metropolis Council Vice President-elect Nick Howland is defending the town’s legislation enforcement following authorized and political controversy surrounding the enforcement of immigration legal guidelines.
Showing on Florida’s Voice Radio with Drew Steele, Howland responded to a current injunction from the U.S. District Courtroom for the Southern District of Florida, which restricts state and native legislation enforcement from imposing sure immigration legal guidelines. In response, Jacksonville Mayor Donna Deegan’s workplace of normal counsel issued steering to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Workplace, advising it to not implement the town’s newly handed immigration invoice.

Howland praised the JSO’s dedication to upholding public security, even amid political and authorized confusion.
