ST. LUCIE COUNTY, Fla. – Retired Port St. Lucie Sheriff Keith Pearson introduced he has joined President Donald Trump’s administration because the senior counselor to state and native regulation enforcement on the Division of Homeland Safety.
“I’m excited to have joined President Trump’s crew on the Division of Homeland Safety because the Senior Counselor to State and Native Legislation Enforcement,” Pearson stated. “Collectively, we’ll make a big affect within the security and prosperity for all Individuals.”
Pearson stated he seems ahead to serving below South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem’s management, who was tapped by Trump to function secretary of the Division of Homeland Safety.
Noem is awaiting the total Senate’s vote for her affirmation within the new function.
“President Trump’s America First Priorities would be the pathway for our success and I sit up for serving below Secretary Kristi Noem’s management,” Pearson stated.
Pearson was defeated by former Port St. Lucie Police Chief Richard Del Toro within the Republican major in August for the sheriff place.
Pearson was appointed by Gov. Ron DeSantis to the place in December 2023.
After being appointed, Pearson vowed to extend transparency in his workplace. Earlier than his appointment by the governor, he served on the sheriff’s workplace for 20 years.
Pearson is vocal and current on social media, together with a viral video posted in April exhibiting a fentanyl trafficking bust, as a rowdy suspect complained and shouted behind him.
