Orlando, Fla. — A federal jury has convicted Jose David Figueroa Pacheco, 33, of Davenport, on fees associated to fentanyl trafficking following a joint investigation by federal and native legislation enforcement companies. The conviction was introduced by the U.S. Lawyer’s Workplace for the Center District of Florida.
Figueroa Pacheco was discovered responsible after a trial stemming from an investigation led by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) and the Orange County Sheriff’s Workplace. Prosecutors stated the operation focused firearms and narcotics trafficking within the Orlando space between August 2023 and August 2024.
Proof offered through the trial indicated that on December 13, 2023, an undercover officer organized to buy a firearm and fentanyl tablets from co-defendant Alberto Ismael Salinas Valencia. Salinas Valencia, who was a passenger in Figueroa Pacheco’s truck, arrived with the firearm on the assembly location. In line with testimony, Figueroa Pacheco coordinated the supply of the tablets, inspected them, and helped facilitate the transaction.
Figueroa Pacheco was indicted on August 7, 2024, alongside Salinas Valencia. Salinas Valencia pleaded responsible on January 23, 2025, and was later sentenced to fifteen years in federal jail.
Figueroa Pacheco now faces a compulsory minimal sentence of 5 years and as much as 40 years in federal jail. His sentencing is scheduled for August 27, 2025.
The case is being prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorneys Richard Varadan and Risha Asokan.
