GAINESVILLE, Fla. — A Dixie County resident has been indicted on federal costs for allegedly trafficking methamphetamine, in accordance with the U.S. Lawyer’s Workplace for the Northern District of Florida.
Ronald Carl Peavy II, 49, of Previous City, is accused of possessing with the intent to distribute 50 grams or extra of methamphetamine. If convicted, Peavy faces a possible most sentence of life in federal jail.
Peavy is scheduled to be arraigned earlier than U.S. Justice of the Peace Decide Midori A. Lowry on the federal courthouse in Gainesville on July 1 at 2:15 p.m.
The case stems from an investigation led by the Drug Enforcement Administration and the Dixie County Sheriff’s Workplace. Assistant U.S. Attorneys James A. McCain and Adam Hapner are prosecuting the case.
The costs are a part of Operation Take Again America, a nationwide initiative by the U.S. Division of Justice aimed toward combating drug trafficking, dismantling transnational prison organizations, and addressing violent crime. The initiative integrates efforts from the Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Activity Forces (OCDETF) and Undertaking Protected Neighborhoods.
Authorities emphasised that an indictment is a proper accusation, not proof of guilt. Peavy is presumed harmless until confirmed in any other case in a court docket of legislation.
