The Hillsborough County Aviation Authority Board of Administrators has accredited a contract to make Delta Air Traces the anchor tenant for Airside D at Tampa Worldwide Airport (TPA). This $1.5 billion venture, the primary new Airside in almost 20 years, will open in 2028 and have a 16-gate terminal for worldwide and home flights.
Delta is dedicated to occupying a minimum of six gates and can function a lounge on the Mezzanine stage for as much as 20 years.
“Delta has been a key associate at TPA for over 65 years, and we’re excited to increase this partnership to Airside D,” stated TPA CEO Joe Lopano. “This settlement will improve our service for vacationers in Tampa Bay.”
At present, Delta operates from six gates and a Sky Membership on Airside E, serving 13 locations with a mean of 36 departures per day. During the last decade, Delta and its companions have transported almost 33 million home and over 1 million worldwide passengers.
Delta can be increasing its service, having launched nonstop flights from Tampa to Amsterdam in October 2024, with plans so as to add nonstop service to Austin this yr.
