In the Central Beach area, there are 3 places to publicly access the beach from Ocean Drive in addition to the main public beach access parks. These 3 places are:
- Flamevine Lane at Ocean Drive, just one block south of Humiston Park
- Gayfeather Lane at Ocean Drive, two blocks south of Humiston Park
- Riomar Drive at Ocean Drive, 1/4 mile south of Humiston Park
We mention these because they are 3 great places to access a little quieter stretch of beach, a great resource for locals in the area as well as visitors strolling along Ocean Drive. Flamevine and Gayfeather have No Parking – they’re just for people walking up to the beach. Riomar has a small parking lot for 6 cars. The Riomar access takes you to a quieter beach where you can take a beautiful walk along the beach to South Beach Park and back. It’s a quiet, unspoiled stretch with a small reef offshore, and you can feel like you’re a million miles away and have the beach to yourself, while you’re still in the heart of Vero.
