Panera – Adjacent to Treasure Coast Plaza
McDonald’s – A Fast Food Chain on the Beachside? As If! But McD’s is just over the bridge on US1 & 20th Street
Burger King – Right Across from McDonald’s, of course!
Wendy’s – For Unknown Reasons, There’s No Wendy’s Right in Town – You Need to Go A Little South on US1
Taco Bell – On US1 near 12th Street
Chick-Fil-A – The nearest CFA is out west on Route 60

Publix – The Flagship Vero Publix is in Treasure Coast Plaza, and There’s Another Publix on US1 & 12th Street
Fresh Market – This Specialty Market is in the Shopping Center on 21st Street
CVS – We have a CVS on the Beach on North A1A (Here) – And there’s Another CVS over the 17th Street Bridge
Walgreens – On US & 17th Street
Cigar Store – Smoke Inn Cigars by Fresh Market is a Great, Friendly Cigar Store & Lounge
Pet Supplies – The Nearest Big Pet Supply Store is Pet Supermarket next to Fresh Market
Big Box Retailers – Head Out West on Route 60 toward 58th Avenue, and you’ll find most of the major chains, such as Target, WalMart, Bealls, Marshall’s, Home Goods, Big Lots, Home Depot, Lowe’s, PetCo, PetSmart, Sam’s Club, and all that fun stuff!
Entertainment
Movie Theatre – The Majestic is a really nice theatre, just over the 17th Street Bridge on US1
Public Golf Course – Unfortunately, all the beachside courses are private, but Sandridge is a lovely course, less than 20 minutes from the Central Beach
Gym – If you need to work out, there is a Planet Fitness offering reasonably-priced day passes near the 12th Street Publix. If you’re joining long-term. we highly recommend the fabulous Vero Fitness, a sprawling locally-owned club that has everything!
Bowling Alley – If you need to entertain the family on a rainy day, Vero Bowl is just over the bridge and pretty nice.
McKee Botanical Gardens – McKee is premier attraction less than 10 minutes from the beach, well worth a visit for nature lovers.
Downtown Vero Beach / Arts District – Vero has a quaint strip of shops, restaurants, and nightlife centered around 14th Avenue & 20th Street – Check out some Yelp Listings Here. Royal Palm Pointe – This is a little peninsula jutting into the Indian River Lagoon just over the Barber Bridge with a number of fun restaurants and a splash park for the kids, a fun place to walk around.
Beyond Vero Beach
Part of Vero Beach’s charm is that we’re a little off the beaten path, an oasis in this crazy world! We’re not too near anything, but we’re not too far from everything! The following places can be reached within a couple of hours or less.
Shopping Mall – Vero no longer has an active mall, but the nearest legit mall is Treasure Coast Square in Jensen Beach (About 50 Minutes Away). A little further away in Palm Beach Gardens is the sprawling and magnificent Gardens Mall (About 1:15 away)
Trader Joe’s – Also in Palm Beach Gardens (About 1:15 away)
Aldi – About 20 Minutes South in Fort Pierce
Amusement Park – Hmmm, we’ve heard some crazy rumors about some theme parks up by Orlando Area… 🙂 Disney World is just under 2 hours away, and so is Universal and all those fun places!
Kennedy Space Center – The Famous NASA Complex is a popular attraction and an easy 90 minute drive from Vero Beach.
Major League Sports Teams – The Miami Dolphins Football, Miami Heat Basketball, Miami Marlins Baseball, and Florida Panthers Hockey are all about 2-2.5 hours away in South Florida. The Tampa Teams are all about 3 hours away, and The Orlando Magic Basketball Arena is about 2 hours away. But the nearest MLB Spring Training is just down the road in Port St. Lucie, where the New York Mets play.
Casino / Gaming – The nearest fully-fledged casino we recommend is Seminole Coconut Creek, about 2 hours down 95 or the Turnpike, just Northwest of Fort Lauderdale. For the full Vegas -Style Resort Experience, the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino is about 20 miles further south, and is a very popular destination. A little closer and much more low-key and less traffick-y, Victory Casino Cruises up in Port Canaveral offers scheduled gaming boat tours you need to make reservations for.
Florida’s Biggest Cities – Like we said, Vero Beach is within day-trip or weekend-trip distance to Florida’s major cities. Going to South Florida, it’s about 1 1/2 hours from Beachside Vero to Downtown West Palm Beach, Just over 2 hours to Downtown Fort Lauderdale, abd Just over 2 1/2 hours to South Beach in Miami, In Central Florida, Downtown Orlando is just under 2 hours away. And on the West Coast, Downtown Tampa is about 2:45 away, with St. Pete 3 hours away. And heading straight north, Jacksonville is about 3 1/2 hours away.
